Biography.

insider.jpgOne of my favourite films is the The Insider with two great actors Russell Crowe and Al Pacino. It tells the true story of Jeffrey Wigants and his going public over the lies of the tobacco industry. What matters in the film is social and journalistic integrity -  telling the public 'as it is', not the flim-flam the BBC gives us - and there's a clue to my chief motivation in life: the communication of Truth in all its forms.

This drive is exacerbated by my Christian faith. I am a practising Christian and have taught the Christian faith as a pastor while spending 8 years as director of the anti-cultic Christian Research Network (1996-2004) in the UK and contributing to and editing its CRN Journal. Today, however, I am a full-time freelance writer journalist specializing in politics, energy & cultural issues.

My greatest concern is not just the aggressive threat of Islamicization in the West but also the Secular Liberalism (a denial of the vlaue of our Judeo-Christian heritage) that so weakens us from within. SL is every bit as much a belief-system as any established religion  - and is steadily becoming our prevailing state religion.  Yet, Secular Liberalism is a thoroughly illogical, unreasoning and, ultimately, incoherent ideology.

Having said that, I was born in Manchester (and I do support - this'll make me popular - Manchester United) where everyone is a comedian.  If you experienced the weather there you'd know why.  That explains also why I can't help but lace some of my stuff with humour. I read this quote the other day:  "A harmless hilarity and a buoyant cheerfulness are not infrequent concomitants of genius; and we are never more deceived than when we mistake gravity for greatness, solemnity for science, and pomposity for erudition."

I have lived in the north-west of England, the north-east of England and in and around London, used to play soccer and guitar in a rock band but now enjoy playing squash and golf (mostly in bunkers). I am married to Sara - and we live in a converted Methodist Chapel in a small village near Colchester, East Anglia.
