North Sea Oil's New Boom

Here's one for all those "experts" who were telling us for 50 years that North Sea oil (and gas) would run out "before the end of the century". By the way, they meant the end of the last century.
In a key example of how new technology and new discoveries just keep 'right-on-a-comin' however a new North Sea oil boom is taking place.

Peak oil theory is not about the size of RESERVES but about the RATE of extraction.
Given that critical distinction, this paragraph, and by extension the whole article, is pretty much meaningless. When I see a significant rise in production numbers I'll believe there is a "boom"; until then, it's just wishful thinking.
